FREMONT COMMUNITY THERAPY PROJECT
Donate to FCTP
Since FCTP was founded by Dr. Laura S. Brown in September, 2006, several hundred people have come through our doors to receive high-quality psychological services from our dedicated volunteer staff. We have grown from two staff members in 2006 to more than fifteen staff members today. Our staff offer five DBT skills groups, psychological assessment, and long-term psychotherapy care for people, many of whom struggle with the effects of complex trauma, chronic illness, and poverty. We have changed lives for the better, assisting people to return to school, function in the workplace, and have relationships that work. Our long wait lists bear witness both to the need for what we do, and the value that people place on what FCTP offers. We aspire to provide the kind of mental health care to our clients that historically has been available only to people with financial means or excellent health insurance, and year after year we have met that goal. To continue in our work, we need your help.
FCTP runs on client fees and donations from private individuals who support our work, as well as on the volunteer energy of our supervisors. We receive no government funding, which allows us to be focused on our social justice vision rather than on complying with externally-imposed norms such as "tiering" clients for degree of severity that restrict how we would give care to people in emotional distress.
Your donation in any amount assists us to insure that we can continue to offer low-cost, high-quality services to a population that has been growing larger at a time when the expenses of running this service also continue to mount. Any amount you can donate is greatly appreciated. Everything that you donate goes directly to support the provision of services to low-income individuals, and the training of psychologists and social workers who will take FCTP's mission into their future practice. FCTP is a 501c.3 not-for profit organization, so your gift is fully tax-deductible.
